The University seeks a Full-time Assistant Baseball Coach for its Athletic Department on the main
campus. The position reports to the Head Baseball Coach and Director of Athletics, and is available
beginning the 2025-26 academic year, upon appointment of a successful candidate.

The University seeks a Full-time Assistant Baseball Coach for its Athletic Department on the main
campus. The position reports to the Head Baseball Coach and Director of Athletics, and is available
beginning the 2025-26 academic year, upon appointment of a successful candidate.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Primary:

• Recruit student-athletes with a mission fit to the university in conjunction with the head coach
• Develop and manage a yearly recruiting database
• Answer and initiate mailings, emails, phone calls, texts, and personal correspondence
• Arrange and assist on-campus recruiting visits
• Be involved in recruiting at games and tournaments
• Be actively involved in all coaching and teaching aspects consistent with the head coach’s

philosophy and objectives
• Assist in planning daily practices
• Ability to hit fungos and throw batting practice preferred
• Able to provide college level instruction in pitching, hitting, and/or positional play
• Prepare team with scouting reports and information
• Be or become proficient with modern baseball technology: Rapsodo, Synergy, Pulse, etc.
• Assist in player evaluations
•
Initiate effective daily warm-up and stretching
•
Initiate Individual workouts with players when needed
• Oversee and supervise weightlifting/conditioning programs
• Be a primary caretaker of baseball program social media accounts
• Willing and eager to help care for all baseball facilities and equipment
• Assist in game day field preparation, bat testing, and clean up.
• Be in constant communication with Head Coach on all team dynamics

Secondary:

• Able to lead and direct spiritual small group team sessions
• Bring positive energy and help connect the baseball program to the greater university

environment

• Contribute to clinics, tournaments, and showcases as scheduled

• Help promote, organize, and lead fundraising efforts
• Establish connections and contacts with alumni
• Build and help nourish a positive spiritual influence on players and students
• Help find and implement ways for the baseball team to serve others
• Other duties as assigned

Expectations for the successful candidate:

• Christian statement of faith, experience, and mission fit.
• Personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
• Understanding and alignment of the heritage, doctrine, and practices of the Church of the

Nazarene. Bachelor degree or equivalent is preferred

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred
• Knowledge of coaching philosophies and implementation within a team
• Experience with Microsoft Office and with office equipment (printers, copiers, etc.)
• Excellent technology, face-to-face, and social media communication skills
• Ability to compose clear, professional letters, emails, and announcements
• Ability to communicate and work effectively and creatively with students, parents, administrators,

faculty and staff

• Must be capable of sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time; frequent use of stairs;

ability to lift 50 pounds
